Who rules Tripoli?

During the current year, Tripoli witnessed a major change in the map of influence of the armed formations that dominate the security scene. After the “cartel” quartet, consisting of: The deterrence force, led by Abdul Raouf Kara. Al-Nawasi Brigade, led by “Mustafa Kaddour and Muhammad Bouzar’a”, Tripoli Revolutionaries Brigade, led by Haitham al-Tajouri. The Central Security Force, led by “Abdul-Ghani Al-Kakli”, controlled most areas of the capital and a number of financial and sovereign institutions during the 2016-2020 period. The city experienced a radical shift in the map of influence in the period that followed the failure of Haftar’s forces to storm the capital.
